My Story

I am a trial attorney. I have been trying cases for over 20 years and I cannot imagine a job that is more engaging or rewarding. I wake up every morning and think, "Wow!--I get paid to do this."

As a former New York City prosecutor, much of my courtroom experience was gained in the Supreme Court of the State of New York, Criminal Division (which is pictured on the right). As a Senior Assistant District Attorney in Brooklyn, I tried cases ranging from arson to attempted murder coming out of some of America’s most dangerous police precincts. I litigated hundreds of matters, learned the importance of mastering procedure and preparation, and gained valuable insight into what makes a jury tick.

Most importantly, my time as a prosecutor made me love trial. I realized that there is a reason why so many movies and television shows focus on litigation: because the process is inherently dramatic. The late hours preparing at the office, the frustration of dealing with opposing attorneys, and the stress of work that changes lives--it is all worth it when you stand in the courtroom and hear the judge say, "Ladies and gentlemen of the jury, have you reached a verdict?"

As much as I enjoyed my time at the District Attorney's office, I knew I could not stay in New York City forever. When my wife and I had our first baby, we decided that it was time to pack up our Brooklyn apartment and find a place that was more suitable to raise a family. We chose Pittsburgh because I was born and raised here and I still have family in the area.

From 2009 to 2023, I worked at one of Pittsburgh's busiest litigation firms. I primarily handled complex medical malpractice cases, but I also had a fair number of car crash cases, slip-and-fall cases, and insurance bad faith cases. I also handled criminal defense matters.

In 2023, I left the regional firm and joined a national practice. Morgan & Morgan is the largest personal injury firm in the country and I am proud to be working alongside some of the best litigators in the field today.

Outside of the courtroom, I am deeply involved in community and social organizations. I was the President of the Board of Commissioners for Aleppo Township before I moved out of the municipality and served on the Board of Directors of the Quaker Valley Council of Governments. I am an ordained Ruling Elder at Sewickley Presbyterian Church, where I am a past President of the Corporation. Currently, I'm on the Board of Directors for the Mary Robert's Reinhart Nature Park.

Court is a wonderous and fascinating place. Of course, if you are there as a litigant, it usually means that something significant--and often unfortunate--has happened in your life. Part of what makes me love my job is the merger of these sentiments: I get to take advantage of my experience and passion for litigating cases to help people through one of the most scary and momentous times in their lives.
